Principal's Corner

Dear Roselle Park Middle School Parents and Community,

My name is Patricia Gois and I am so excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Roselle Park Middle School. I am honored to have been selected to join the Roselle Park School

District, which is known far and wide for its dedication to excellence, but more importantly, to children. Over the past 18 years, I have worked as a teacher and administrator in the Newark School District. I was a Middle School Teacher for 9 years, I then served as a Middle School Vice Principal for 5 years, which lead me to become a Principal at an Elementary School that served students in grades Pre-K to 8.  In all of my roles as an educator, I consider my most important job to be that of a child advocate. I will spend a lot of time with your children, getting to know their personalities, learning styles and interests. I will celebrate their successes, small and large. I will encourage them every day and let them know they are valued and have a special place in our school community.

Not only am I excited to begin working with your children, but I look forward to the work we will do together. As the old African Proverb states, “It takes a village to raise a child.” I am excited to see your children through your eyes. I cannot wait to share with you the great things they do throughout their days here at Roselle Park Middle School. And of course I will be here to work with you should they need any help navigating any aspect of the school day.

My goal is to ensure that all children are healthy, happy and safe, so they may learn as much as they can. This has been my philosophy since I began my career teaching with the Newark Public Schools. Before my teaching career I worked in the business world for 3 years with Merrill Lynch and H.J. Sims. During the summers I worked with troubled youth and provided tutoring to students from elementary through college.

In my years as a 6th grade teacher, I also was the School Leadership Council President, served as the district’s model classroom for literacy as well as for differentiated instruction. In addition, I facilitated professional development and parent workshops in all of my positions as an educator and administrator. In my years as a Principal I was also selected as a member of the committee to write the District’s 3 year transitional strategic plan.

Please know I will work tirelessly to ensure all your children have the best possible experiences while at Roselle Park Middle School. My goal is to ensure all of our students achieve high academic success.

Once again, I am so thankful to have the opportunity to bring all that I have experienced and learned with me to your wonderful community. I look forward to getting to know you and your children. I will be working most days this summer to ensure for a smooth transition and opening in September. Please stop by to say hello or feel free to email me with any concerns or questions at pgois@rpsd.org . Please keep checking our website for updates as more pertinent information will be forthcoming.

I look forward to meeting you soon.

Warm Regards,

Patricia A. Gois, Principal
